Completed in 2024, this newly built villa in Nieuwersluis is the result of several years of collaboration between MM Interiors, the architect, and the homeowners. The shared ambition was to create a home in classic English country style newly constructed, yet with the character of a house that feels like it has always been there.
With its thatched roof, soft white detailing, and traditional proportions, the villa fits naturally into its lush, landscaped surroundings. French doors open onto the terraces, connecting inside and out in a calm and timeless way.
The interior combines craftsmanship and comfort with understated elegance. In the hallway, classic wall panelling and a custom staircase with a wool runner set the tone, while carefully selected decorative pieces bring personality and warmth. Other standout features include authentic built-in cupboards with an integrated fireplace, the dining room with its subtly patterned wallpaper, and a built-in window seat with striped upholstery.
Not to be overlooked is the extensive use of custom woodwork throughout the home, which reinforces the country house feel: exposed beam ceilings, panelled doors, and its detailed mouldings all contribute to a cohesive, characterful interior.
Every element in this home was carefully considered, from the flow of spaces to the finest finishes. The result is a new-build villa that feels lived-in and enduring. Rooted in tradition, yet fully tailored to modern family life, it strikes a quiet balance between classic charm and contemporary comfort.
