This spacious family home, dating back to 1918, still retained many of its beautiful original details, which we were eager to honour and preserve. We designed several cosy seating areas throughout the house and added distinctive vintage designer pieces and curated artworks as thoughtful finishing touches.
A striking transformation was the addition of a generous rear extension, now housing the kitchen and dining area, truly the beating heart of the home. This new space feels airy and open thanks to a four-metre-high pitched roof, complemented by exposed ceiling beams that subtly echo original architectural details found elsewhere in the house. By continuing the original flooring and reintroducing classic paneling, we created a seamless and harmonious connection between old and new.
Attention to detail extends to the exterior. The extension blends effortlessly with the historic architecture, featuring stained glass windows, traditional roof tiles, and brickwork in the home’s original style. Since the extension slightly reduced the garden space, the landscaping was also reimagined: part of the driveway was converted into garden, and new terraces and borders were added perfectly in keeping with the home’s timeless charm and character.
The result is an elegant, soulful family residence where authenticity and comfort come together.
